Easing Up a Bit, Every Once in a While…

img_7467

I hate to admit it, but I can be my own worst enemy.  I have a lot of things I want to do – activities and projects I come up with – and once I set a plan in place it can be hard for me to deviate.  Partly because I like to keep my word, even if I’ve only entered into “an agreement” with myself, and partly because I like to see plans through.  (Please refer to this post where I mention that I have double-stubborn potential, being a Taurus born in the year of the Ox)

That said, every once in a while I do use my common sense and ease up on myself. This weekend is perfect example.  I was planning on spending most of Saturday out and about – taking photos and doing research for a feature I was going to post on Tuesday.  The problem?  A very busy week and an “off” sleep schedule left me wiped out by the time Friday rolled around.  Bull-Headed Melody would’ve stuck to the original plan and dragged through Saturday’s slated activities.  Thankfully, “Give Yourself a Wee Little Break” Melody prevailed.

I decided to re-arrange my blog post calendar a bit, and spent Saturday relaxing and spending time with hubby instead.  He certainly deserves an un-frazzled me, as do I.  The planned feature will still be completed, just a little later on.  And though I didn’t complete that which I’d originally planned I’m content, for I’ve taken one baby step towards something that will likely be a lifelong challenge for this “wanna do” gal: balance.

Warm regards,
Melody

p.s. In the interest of easing up a bit, I pulled this post’s photo from my files instead of scurrying to take something new.  The photo was taken last year at a friend’s house.  Thank you for setting a beautiful table, B.L.!

Balance is the key to everything. All in moderation. I have to use this to control my chocolate cravings all the time! Also searching for a healthier, happier balance in my life. Enjoy reading your posts, Mel, they’re always uplifting and accompanied by beautiful photo’s. Happy weekend.

Good for you, my dear. You have to be good to yourself before you can be good to everyone else…you’re worth it.
    Miss you!

    Jenny,
Yes, balance is key – but can be such a challenge! I’m glad I’m not the only one working on balance…
Thank you for your kind words about my posts and photos – it means a lot, especially when trying to maintain the “juggling”!

    Beth,
Your “rest and relax” motto is a good example for me. I even take the advice, from time to time. 😮
