The summer is a great time to get out into nature and to create, so I’m offering up a set of Daler-Rowney watercolor pencils and an art journal. And whether you use these items in the out of doors in the sunshine or burn the midnight oil and create in your home, they’re sure to help you express, create, and play!
The set of 12 watercolor pencils comes in a lovely metal tin with a hinged lid. The journal is a white hard cover book with unlined white pages – my favorite! It measures 6 1/4″ x 8″ and is actually the same type of book that I provide my at-risk art journaling students with. It’s a wonderfully versatile and customizable book.
To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post sharing one of your favorite artists. It can be anyone – from Van Gogh or Georgia O’Keefe (two of my favorites) to your child, a friend, or yourself! The winner will be announced on Thursday, July 26, 2012. Good luck!
Warm regards,
Melody

This is so awesome. Reminds me of art classes in HS and College.
I love Gustav Klimt
Always hard to narrow my favorites down to one, but I love Monet.
My favorite artist is contemporary: Jasmine Becket-Griffith
OMG! Isn’t her art amazing??
My sister is one of my favorite artists! She has such an amazing talent. I would love to give this set to her if I won!

My late mother, Marilyn Steele, was a very talented artist. She was a high school art teacher that inspired many young students to persue their love of art. She went to heaven 4 years ago after a painful struggle with the cruel disease of Alzheimer’s. Thank you the chance to win this wonderful prize.
Love the art of Montana Artist Carol Hagen! How do DW pencils compare to Derwent Inktense, if you know? Thx for the giveaway (not likin’ the captcha tho – this is my 4th try)
I also love Vincent Van Gogh’s art – even before I was interested in art myself, his work captured my soul. Georgia O’Keefe was one on my mom’ s favs and I have come to love her art as well. These are only 2 of my many favorites!!
I love Julia Anne Aubrey.
I’ve won before but will try again. Hunderwasser is one of my favorites & I can see drawing wonderful little colored squares inspired by him with these pencils. Love your blog & the work you do with kids.
Oh, this looks like a great prize! While my two favorite artists would be my late brother Steven and my late grandmother Betty, it’s unlikely anyone has heard of them. A more well-known artist whose work I really admire is Pegge Hopper. Her images of Hawaiian women and island life seem to exude relaxation.
Ahhhh, Monet’s way with color would win my vote. I love his dreamy colors! And what a sweet giveaway, just the ticket!
How is it possible to choose a favourite? I like different artists for different reasons, but I bow to the master…Picasso.
AWESOME. You have wicked giveaways. I love Daler & Rowney things – I just tried some of their acrylic inks for my dip pens and I’m in looove! You already know I love your blog
My favorite artist is actually a fellow Tweeple – Gentian Osman!
My fave artist is Norman Rockwell! Thanks for the chance to win your getaway.
It’s a cool one!
I honestly don’t have a favorite artist right now, but as of the moment, I’m really liking some of the art I’m getting into! I love colored pencils and I’ve been experimenting with watercolor pencils as well, it would be nice to try some more!
Thanks for the chance to win
Gustav Klimt. I had a nightmare when I was probably 10 that the lady in the Tree of Life killed my parents. It was very graphic. That’s not what makes him my favorite. But its why I’ll never forget it.
I can say without hesitation that my favorite artist is Alice Neel. I feel such a strong connection to her portraits. Thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway. It caused me to discover your blog!
I really love Lynne Perrella’s mixed media art collages, assemblages etc. She is super talented!
my favorite artist of all time is andy goldsworthy…fabulous environmental artist! thanks for the chance at your giveaway–you’re right, the perfect time of year to get out and create

My fav’ artist of the moment is Cas Holmes – wonderful textile artist. A sample of her work can be seen here and I’ve also included links to her site.
My favorite artist at the moment is my friend Irene. She has just started painting and has sold some her work already.. is in many galleries around town and is quite oblivious of her amazing talent. Wish I could have that natural flair. And with all that she is kind, supportive and encouraging! Thanks for the chance to win!
Hi Melody! Always loving your blog<3
One of my favorite artists is Kelly Rae Roberts. Not just for her art but also her lifestyle. She lives an artistic life and surrounds herself and her home with handcrafted items.

Good layering techniques and useful for kids, since images are simplified. Takes a while to get going at first.
I have so many that I love for different reasons it is hard to pick just one or two…but a couple of artists that I adore the works of are Ana’s Ramblings & Art Corner, Raven O’keefe, Jennifer Kohn Murtha, Ogi Yanakiev
I very much enjoy Cathy Johnson’s journal artwork…she has a special touch and so natural with her artwork.
My favorites are WYLAND and CHRISTIAN RIESE LASSEN

my favorite is Gustav Klimt!
While I love going to see art exhibits and appreciate the art of major artists I think the artists I love the most are my students, watching their creativity flow is amazing.
