I Love to Doodle!

doodle4

I love spending time working in my art journal.  It’d been way too long since I’d last played within the pages of my current book (#15), so I recently sat down with my journal, some black Micron pens, my watercolor pencils, a small brush, and a cup of water.  The images shared here are the results of my doodling: loose, sloppy, colorful, and fun.  I tried to use a variety of color combinations…

Have you been creating lately?  If so, please share.  Whether you’ve tried a new recipe or made a greeting card by hand, I’d love to hear about it.

Warm regards,
Melody

I’ve been doing some mail art lately. I decorate the envelopes with circles that I’ve punched out of gelli prints I’ve made. I glue those to the envelope (some are glued hanging off the edge of the envelope and I cut off the excess to leave half circles). Then I take souffle, glazing or gel pens and go around the circles doodling with the pens as well. Then I edge the envelope with stamping ink. I sometimes use stamps for further interest.

Oh!! These are SO COOL. … I’m going to have to copy you and try these… I have not been very artistic lately, but I have been tinkering with some flexible nib fountain pens – just writing words in my pen journal 🙂

    Azizah,
Thank you – I’m glad you like them! You could do an interesting variation with your fountain pen inks – using a small paintbrush to blend the ink after you’ve used a pen to lay it down on the page. Have fun playing! :]
