As you may know, I live in Southern California – the land of nearly-eternal sunshine. Our seasons don’t change very much here, so I’m dedicating this haiku to those of you in colder climates. For example, I know at least one of my out-of-state friends is still battling snow with a shovel and a snowplow. Hang in there, my snow-bound friends! Spring is nearly here…

Take a closer look
“Little” blessings all around
Make these days worthwhile

Always mindful of the many blessings in my life, big and small, I’m particularly focused on the little things right now. When life challenges you, why not try to endure with grace and gratitude? That’s what I’m working towards, and though my results are mixed, and some days are better than others, this goal does help – and it certainly doesn’t hurt!

NaNoWriMo Haiku
Novel in a month?
The words flew from my fingers
Victory is mine!
It was exhausting and was a grand exercise in time management, but NaNoWriMo was worth it. Just don’t say anything about re-writing, okay? Not just yet, anyway. I need a week to bask in the glory of my accomplishment – and to catch up on my non-NaNoWriMo to-do list!
